Teen parents from the municipality of San Andres participated in the first ever Teen Parents Trail Initiative last August 31, 2017 at the VTC Victor Hall Virac, Catanduanes.

The Teen Parents’ Trail is a modified U4U Trail which aims to inform and educate Filipino teen parents on how to avoid repeat pregnancies, reach education and work goals and prevent gender-based violence.

The teen trail was a fun and informative activity designed for young parents, which consisted of the following activities: an interactive learning exhibit and short class discussion, a film showing to heighten awareness on adolescent sexuality and reproductive health and presentations of different partnered agencies that offered services to help the teen parents with their present situation.

The Commission on Population (POPCOM), in partnership with the Department of Health, launched the Teen Parents’ Trail Caravan. It will also be implemented in the different municipalities of the province in the coming weeks.

Included in the partnered agencies who supported and contributed in the realization of the activity were the Provincial Government of Catanduanes, LGU San Andres, RHU San Andres, PNP San Andres, DepEd, DOLE and PhilHealth.
